Sixth-grade students will explore the different ways geographers study world geography today. This involves looking at and constructing different types of maps, learning about the science of the Earth, and understanding the themes of geography. Throughout the year, students will also connect contemporary government and economics to their understanding of geography.
Students will conduct investigations of global issues. Using knowledge, research, and inquiry, they will analyze issues and propose plans for the future, including a persuasive essays.
