Zoom Parent Meeting Tomorrow…

Please check your email or schoology for a zoom parent meeting invitation. Have a great night!

Hi families!

It was so nice to speak to all of you today on the phone! We have made an orientation for you to listen to today:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LYG0hZ6CsSzoMFIgz7fNq80qFQNgFeds/view?usp=sharing

We have a post on Schoology for you to comment on for practice.

We are excited to get started but we need to go slow at first so that we can get everyone up and running on Schoology. We want to make sure everyone can access the same information before we start with new learning.

Here is a short layout of how the week will go:

Monday- Introduction Phone Calls and Orientation Video (Attendance was taken from phone calls and emails)

Tuesday- Supply Pick up from 10:45 am to 11:45 am (Attendance taken during Supply pickup)

Wednesday- Parent Survey posted on Schoology (this will help us know who is able to access Schoology and to give us necessary information) (Attendance taken when Parent Survey is completed by noon)

Thursday- Follow up Phone Calls and Schedule for next week posted on Schoology (Attendance taken during follow up phone calls)

Remember, this weekend is Labor Day so we will have a long weekend. No school Friday or Monday. Can’t wait to speak with you Tuesday! Reminder: After this week, all communication will be through Schoology.

Thank you, Mrs. Malone

Important Information…

Dear families,

Hello! As you probably have heard from the school, I will be your child’s teacher this year! With that you should have also received my welcome letter, but I wanted to reach out to you as well. I am so eager to meet your family!

First, welcome to second grade!  Ms. Woolley is the other second grade teacher and I want you to know that we work very closely together, planning, teaching, etc. While this school year is starting off with EVERYTHING new,  Ms. Wolley and I are trying very hard to make it as smooth of a transition as possible! We may not always succeed but know that we are trying! If at any point there is something you think that we have missed, let us know!

As far as this coming week I wanted to fill you in on what we have planned. Consider it an orientation week.  While there will be some activities assigned (nothing too hard) our focus will be to orient all of us with our new Learning Management System, Schoology, and Zoom.  More information will be coming your way from me as to how to login, communicate, and learn!

One date that we would like you to put into your calendar is this Tuesday, September 1st, from 10:45am to 11:45am we will have a materials pickup for second grade. This will be located on the playground black top in the back of the school on the Notre Dame Street side.  We will be social distancing with masks and ask that you do as well.

Until Schoology is up and running, I will be communicating information to you through my Blog.  To ensure that you don’t miss anything  please subscribe! To do so you will go to my blog https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/malonej/ and scroll all the way to the bottom and enter your email address.

Finally, watch for a personal phone call from me on Monday morning with more information and to ask some questions.  I would also love to say hi to my new student as well!

Lastly, I have attached the second grade recommended supply list. I am very frugal and would hate to miss out on these back to school sales!

Thank you, Mrs. Malone

Welcome to the 20/21 School Year!!
