Class Routines

We’re getting into our routines, and trying out different subject areas. We practiced what to do when they come in in the morning. We practiced signing up for lunch and going to lunch. Some students were confusing their snack as a lunch.

The students met with Principal Lazar to talk about Lunch and playground rules and routines.

Today we started our new math program. The students will have a Math homework sheet everyday after a lesson. We practiced Read to Self  and read some new poems. They took the Poem binder home tonight to practice with you. Usually I will send the Poem binder home on Mondays.

Snacks

Please try to get your child to eat some breakfast before they come to school, and also send them with a healthy snack. They are all very hungry. Also they may have their own water bottle on their desk.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back parents and students to a new year at Howard school. I hope your vacation time was relaxing, exciting, and memorable. As I’m sure you’ve heard we have a new principal Mrs. Linda Lazar.

Today went rather smoothly; no tears that I saw. The students listen to some books, read some books of their choosing by themselves, and told about their Summer in writing and pictures. We discussed back to school feelings, went over a few rules, and of course had some time for recess.

I also took some “My First Day of 1st grade” pictures of the students. You will get to see these at open House.
