Dear Families,
I’m sure you have all been getting information from the district regarding the recent school closings. I was shocked at how it unfolded so quickly but the governor said that all schools needed to shut down so that is what was done.
While this is a crazy new “normal” we will try to do what is best for everyone. Since this is not exactly a “break or vacation” away from school I will be posting a daily activity that you can do at home with your child. I will also be looking at their goals and sending you an email on something that you can work on with your child to help them reach their goals while at home.
I am at home with my own children as well so we have created a schedule. We did our best to follow it today. Of course I don’t mind if we are off track BUT I wanted to make sure that they were NOT on technology all day long. That was my main goal. They are a little older so they had some school work. They worked on that, played outside, played the violin and recorded it. Now they are having some down time. It is important to keep their brains thinking during this time away from our school building.
For today a website that you and your child can check out is :
starfall.com/h/
It has letter and number practice. It is on a computer but it is also educational. Make sure to check the blog posts daily. I will also try to connect you to the Cotter PreK blog for additional information.
We will miss your kids but we will be sending ideas of things they can do at home as well. There may even be a video or two of me at home with my kids making something.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lott
