Happy 2nd Week of School! I hope everyone enjoyed the four day weekend. Here is some information about the next few weeks of school.

First, Dearborn High School has Open House this Thursday, September 5th from 6:00-7:30 PM. I hope to see everyone here.

Second, Friday, September 20th is a half day for all students in the district.

Third, Wednesday, September 25th will be a late start. Bus pick-up in the morning will be one hour later than a regular school day. Dismissal is at the normal time.

Finally, Parent/Teacher conferences will be on Monday, October 14th and Wednesday, October 15th. More information to follow in the near future.

It is hard to believe but we only have 6 more days of school (if you don’t count today).  We only have three more full days of school:  Friday, June 7th, Monday, June 10th, and Tuesday, June 11th.  High school students will have half days on Wednesday, June 12th and Thursday, June 13th.  All students will have a half day on Friday, June 14th.

Students in the ASD program at DHS/MBCC will be bused to the building they normally attend in the morning on the half days.  The bus that brings them to school in the morning will bus them home on the half days.  Dismissal is 10:30 am.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Just a quick reminder that we will be enjoying a long weekend again.  We will be off Monday, June 3rd through Wednesday, June 5th to observance of Eid al-Fitr.  Eid Mubarak to those that will be celebrating the end of the Holy Month on Ramadan with their friends and family.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, May 15th, is our last Late Start of the school year.  Also there will be no school on May 24th and 27th for Memorial Day.

Report card and progress report were sent home with students.  If you have not seen them, please check your child’s backpack.

If your child qualified for Extended School Year (Summer School) applications were sent home with your child.  Please check their backpack, complete the form, and return to school.  Also, all students that are provided transportation to school should have received a copy of this year’s busing form.  Please make any corrections and return to school.

Just a reminder, parent teacher conferences are tonight from 4-7 pm at Dearborn High School.  My table will be in the gym.  Mrs. Chapman will not be here tonight.

The 4th card marking ended last Friday, March 8th.  Just a reminder we will have parent/teacher conferences next week on Wednesday, March 20th from 4-7 PM.  Both Mrs. Chapman and I will be in the gym at Dearborn High School.

Next week is Spirit Week.  The following are the themes for each day:

Tuesday, February 19th – Pajama Day

Wednesday, February 20th – Sports Team Day

Thursday, February 21st – Twin Day

Friday, February 22nd – DHS Spirit Day (wear your orange and black)

Just a quick update on important dates in February.

Tomorrow, Feb. 6th is a late start

Thursday, Feb. 14th is a half day for students.  All students in the ASD program will attend their regular morning school and the bus that picks them up in the morning will bring them home that day.

Winter Break is from Feb. 15th to 18th.  There will be no school on those days

Winter Ball is Saturday, Feb. 23rd.  More details to follow next week.

Just a reminder that we will be having half days of school on Thursday, January 17th, Friday, January 18th, Tuesday, January 22nd, and Wednesday, January 23rd.  There will be no school on Monday, January 21st in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday.
