History: We finished NWEA Language Usage today.
Language Arts: Finish the Narrative Writing activity that we started in class (Three kids running)
Summer Learning projects will be collected on Thursday. Students should do a one-page presentation paper. This project will be graded as extra credit.
To finish C.E.R.s for Language Arts, students can web search a text of Mona Gardner’s “The Dinner Party”.
C.E.R.s will be collected on Thursday.

There are still tickets for our September 27 field trip on the Diamond Jack River Boat.
If a student would like to participate, they can still turn in a slip and money.

Ancient World History book: We are reading Chapter 1
Language Arts: We are reading “The Dinner Party”
There will be a test on Friday over the material of chapter 4. Students have a study guide that will be collected before the test.
In Language Arts, we have read “A Christmas Carol” Act 1, scenes1-3. Students have a C.E.R. to complete as homework. cer-xmas-carol
Our field trip to see the play is on Tuesday, December 13.

On Wednesday we will peer-edit the brochures.
All brochures must be done. If you have tech issues, do a handwritten one if you have to.
On Tuesday we started the Informational Brochure project.
Students will have one class period on Monday to finish and print their brochure. This will not be enough time to do a thorough job–it needs to be worked on as homework.
Attached are samples of what your brochure can look like. Use as many text features as possible. The project is worth 15 summative points (1 point for each text feature used).
Students should read “A World Turned Upside Down”.
Search my blog for a link to the textbook. We will work with the selection on Monday.
