Newsletter for the Week of January 14th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Our core vocab word of the week was “on”
  • We practiced using the word “on” in many ways. The children put on hats, put on puzzle pieces, put on their lunch shirts, put on their coats
  • Our letter of the week was “O”
  • We practiced the letter “O” by reading an interactive book and searching through our bean bin for objects that start with the letter “O,” we did an octopus bingo sheet, and sang letter “O” songs
  • We found a big cardboard box in the hallway and brought it back to the room to explore. We like to crawl inside and put a flap down then knock to see if anyone is home
  • We practiced color recognition with an interactive colored snowflake book
  • We read “There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed some Snow”
  • The students listened to the story “Snowmen All Year” then we painted snowmen and finished the sentence, “If I had a snowman all year we would…”
  • We practiced sorting fruit by color
  • The students worked on their fine motor skills with puzzles, fine motor jars, and pegs
