Happy first full day of school! I hope that you all have a fantastic day and I look forward to meeting you all very soon. Below, you can listen to me reading one of my favorite stories to you. Try to read along with me or look for words that you know. After that, I will show you how I write about my connection with the story and then I invite you to try and do the same. Have a great day!

Hello first graders! I cannot believe that it is already September! I hope you all had a great first day of school. I am posting two short videos where I introduce myself and do a very quick lesson with you. The first lesson is on short /a/ . Mrs. Donelson, Mrs. Wall, and Mrs. Musleh introduced short /a/ today, so please watch that video. Mrs. Makim’s class listened to a book called “Our Class is a Family” and that story was loaded with rhyming words. The second video is a short lesson about rhyming words. You are all welcome to watch both videos. They are very short, I promise 🙂

Welcome

Hello first grade students and families! I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am Mrs. Klan and will be working very closely with your child’s teacher to help your children become stronger readers and writers and develop a love for learning. I have been teaching at Miller for 22 years and I promise to do everything that I can to help your child grow and to make your child’s experiences with online learning positive and beneficial. I will be contacting some of you very soon in order to introduce myself further and to schedule regular small group or individual reading appointments. I look forward to an amazing year. We are all in this together, so please never hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all. My email address is klanr@dearbornschools.org. I hope to meet all of you on Wednesday during the First Grade Orientation. Until soon…Mrs. Klan
