Good evening, families!
The homework tonight was just one story problem. These are tricky, because students have to look for the pictures or number models that will HELP them solve the story problem. This is something we will continue to work on.
Upcoming lessons in math will involve students learning to tell time to the hour and half hour. Please begin working on these skills. I will allow students to take plastic clocks home to practice. Our math program uses the language “half-past three” instead of simply 3:30, so please teach your child both ways.
You may notice math or reading games or activities coming home with your child. Please work on these activities with your child and return them the next day so another child can use them. These are skills that will help him/her in reading and math, but will hopefully be fun to do or play. If you are interested in having your child bring more advanced or additional games home, please never hesitate to ask, or send me a quick e-mail klanr@dearbornschools.org
Have a fantastic evening!
