ELA: We are learning to look at two informational texts, and identify similarities and differences in photos, diagrams, text, or other features. Also, we are describing ways that two ideas, individuals, events, or pieces of information are connected. For example, roots are connected to stems because they soak up the water for the plant. We are also going to continue to look for and record key details for our animal reports using books on myon, the internet, and our informational books.

Math: We will be learning how to partition shapes into halves, fourths, and thirds. It is important for students to know that when we are talking about fractions, all parts must be equal. They should be able to tell whether a shape is divided into halves, fourths, or thirds.

Social Studies: We will begin taking our social studies test online this week. I will upload the study guide. They should be able to do the following:
* identify the water on a map (blue)
* tell which places have absolute locations (those with an address)
* Tell what kind of dress is appropriate for the seasons
* tell their right from their left and use directional words such as up, above, below, between, under, over
* identify human and physical characteristics

Science: I brought the rye grass and alfalfa sprouts home over the break to make sure they got water and sunshine. We will predict what will happen when we “mow” or cut our lawns.
