Math: Students will be learning to add and subtract ten to a two digit number using the patterns on the number grid. They should be able to do this mentally, but the number grid is a great tool to reinforce this pattern. Just a reminder: The math packets that I send home are optional. I am hoping that children choose to do those for practice and reinforcement. Many parents have requested these, but if this is too much for you or your child, I completely understand. It is absolutely never meant to stress anyone out 🙂
Writing and Reading: We are continuing to use text features to look for and record information in our nonfiction books. We are learning how to locate information efficiently using the glossary, table of contents, subheadings, bold words, and photos. Students are continuing to work on their animal reports.
Social Studies: We will take our online social studies test on “Places” this week. Please see last week’s post and powerpoint for information about the test.
Science: We cut our “lawns” and made predictions about what would happen. This week, we continue to explore plants and the variations of plants that grow.
Reminder: Our concert is Tuesday at 4:00. Students need to bring in the permission slip if they are attending.
Have a great weekend! I hope we see some sunshine!
