Tonight’s homework is a review of fact family sentences. This gave some of my students a bit of a challenge on NWEA. They should be able to see three numbers in the same fact family (example, 11, 3, and 8) and create four sentences (two addition and two subtraction) with just these three numbers.

Writing Topic: They were each given a nonfiction book. They should read the pictures, subheadings, bold words, etc. to learn facts about the topic. They then record the main topic in their notebooks. The Main Topic is what the book is mostly about.
