Tonight’s homework involves graphing, which is a skill we work on DAILY. We talk about gathering information (data), recording it on a graph and then interpreting the graph by answering questions about the DATA or information on the graph. Students find these types of questions especially challenging:
If the graph shows the 8 kids chose chocolate ice cream and 5 kids chose vanilla ice cream. How many MORE kids chose chocolate?
I am teaching them to set up the following math sentence:
8-5= 3
You can practice this type of questioning at home. This will really help them.
