Week of October 27th

Hello Families,

I apologize for waiting so long to post. I was experiencing some technical difficulties, but seemed to have solved the problem 🙂 I plan to communicate with you quite often so that you are aware of what we are doing in our classroom. Please do not ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Here are some updates to keep you informed about what we are learning in our classroom:

Reading:  Please continue to listen to your child read from his/her bag of books each evening.  Your children are becoming such great readers and they will continue to accelerate as they practice.

Writing: We are working on stating an opinion and then supporting it with details. They are doing awesome!  The students really enjoyed their Fall-themed math workshop centers today 🙂

Math: We are working on tens and ones, addition and subtraction facts (0-20), reading information on graphs, and finding the missing number in a number sentence. Please continue to practice counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s.

Social Studies: We are talking about needs/wants, goods/services, and cultures,

Science: We are studying seasons and weather.

Please note, we will not be dressing in costumes on Friday, but children may bring in a wrapped treat for each child. We have 24 children in class.
