We would like to invite you to take our on-line Leader In Me Survey  to collect some data for our Leader In Me grant.  The link for you is provided below.  We are highly encouraging all parents to take part in this survey.  It is our hope that we have at least 250 parents take this survey and IF we do the school will be holding an organized dance party on Thursday, May 26 from 2:30-3:00.  Mr. D will be our  very own DJ.  So, please help our school reach the goal of 250 parents participating and provide our school with a little dancing fun!!!

Check your child’s folder for their ABC Countdown to the end of the year! There is a description of what to do for each day of the week.

Field Trip is tomorrow.  An informative note is in their folder about it.

We completed our NWEA testing last week and I just want to say what a great job overall the students did on it.  Many students made their goal. I will send home a progress sheet for you later this week. I’m very proud of every student!  Thank you parents for all your support in making sure they do their homework daily and encouraging them to do their best.

Frist graders are in charge of our assembly this Friday at 2:30.  They will be teaching Habit 5 of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids to the entire school.  Our class will be performing 3 mini skits.  Every student in the class has a part of some kind in the production. We’d love for you to come and watch this Friday April 29th, 2016 at 2:30 in the gym.

Please check your child’s folder for a blue t-shirt order form.  This form is due this Monday April 25th. It will represent 3 big events coming up: Leadership Day, School Clean Up Parade, and Field Day. We can all wear our shirts on those days!  Cash only. 5$

Wonder Bubbles-students have begun a research project either on an animal or weather. They begin with a question “I wonder…” and then research to find the answer as wwell as provide fun facts about their topic. They will then create a large bubble (cut from poster board) in which they will draw a big picture in art class of their topic and then affix their research to the bubble. Later down the road we would like them to construct a 3 dimensional figure of their topic so ask them what they are researching for their “Wonder Bubble” and start gathering recycled materials they could use to create it. This construction will take place later in the year but you can start collecting the materials now.

There has been a decline in completing and turning in homework, including their reading/behavior log.  Please talk to them about the importance of being responsible in these areas.

Spring Pictures will be taken on Tuesday the 19th

Hello, First Graders will be participating in a Tower of Books Challenge. A note with directions and supplies has been sent home.  I have also explained to the students what they need to do.  Please encourage your child to participate and  challenge him/herself in this activity.

Reminder: Field Trip Friday.  We will be outdoors so dress appropriately and send a bagged lunch.

Please send in Field Trip forms by Tuesday, April 8th.  We have been fortunate this year to experience several field trips. It’s great that the students have had learning experiences outside of the classroom.  Thank you parents for helping on the trips, it’s truly appreciated.
