Please Read

Dear Parents,

Please speak to your child about the importance of packing up their folders and remembering to bring them home.  Over the past month students are leaving homework and folders on their desk. We pack up and everyday and everyday I tell them at least 3 times to make sure they put their homework in their folders and yet they still end up shoved in their desk, or left on the tables, or like today…two math test study guides ended up on the floor in the hallway.

The math test study guide went home today.  Have them do it on their own, go over it with them and help them with the ones they got wrong.

Thanks for your support,

Mrs. Kearney

PBIS Party Tomorrow and math test information

Our February PBIS party is tomorrow.  Students who had no more than 3 card flips will be attending. Here is a description of what to bring:

PBIS Reward Party:  Monday, March 2, 245-315:  Students may bring electronics from home for this reward day!  We usually don’t allow  tablets, Ipads, Ipods, Leapster, DS and other suitable electronics at school, but this one half hour is different! FUN!   Please enjoy, respect and be responsible with your electronics!  If you do not have one of the above mentioned electronics to bring in, please send in a non electronic game for your child to play with.
This Wednesday for math homework students will be getting a unit 6 math test review.  After they have completed it check it over and then help them with any they may have gotten wrong.

Have a great week…

Thank you parents for helping in the classroom or donating items to our Valentine Day Party.  We can’t do these things without your help, it is greatly appreciated. Hope you have a great week with your family.

Pennies for Pasta runs through next week. Thank you for all the donations so far.

Spring is around the corner 🙂

Count Day and more…

I just wanted to let you know tomorrow is count day so be sure to call in for an excused absence if your child is sick.

I’m happy to report that students came in excited today telling me of all the things they have been doing at home like tying shoes, waking up on their own, getting dressed by themselves, making their own breakfast etc… They were smiling and and confident:) Good job moms and dads!

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day at 2:00pm. I have some volunteers who said they’d like to help but if you’d like to drop in and hang out in room 29 you are more than welcome!

Valentine’s Day

We have two parties this week, as you know a note was sent home about the 100th Day of School and it will be celebrated on Thursday the 12th.  I will be at professional development all day on Thursday but have activities for the sub to do with them.  On Friday,  February 13th we will have a little Valentine’s Day Celebration in the afternoon.  There is a sign up sheet in the hall for these items:

  • cheese and crackers
  • carrots and dip and/or hommus
  • juice boxes
  • 22 boxes of small candy hearts (for math activities)
  • 3 bags of mini marshmallows
  • 2 cans of white frosting
  • bag of red hots
  • red or pink sprinkles
  • pretzels

Students may bring in cards to pass and a small candy if they would like.

NWEA Test

Good Morning,

Tomorrow at 9:00am students will take their ELA NWEA test. Please be sure they get a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast (those who eat here do have enough time to finish).

There will be a spelling test this Friday and homework will be sent home today and tomorrow.

Student list of names is being sent home today if you need them for Valentine’s Day cards.  Details about a party will be sent home later this week.
