Thursday the 25th -Science Fair 5:30-6:30 PM
We did our experiment today. The question was will we go down the slide faster sitting up or laying on our stomachs. Students made their hypothesis, I recorded the times and then when we came in they recorded their results. We also looked at both sets of data and noticed that we went down faster on our stomach than sitting up. In fact they noticed how most of the time trials for laying down were anywhere from 4-6 seconds with one a little over 3 seconds. They also noticed that there was a large gap in time trials for sitting up, anywhere from 17.6 seconds to 5.6 seconds. They talked with their table partners and came up with some ideas as to what may have slowed them down and what may have helped them go faster. Next week we will explore why (the science) they went faster on their stomach.
Field Trip Friday the 26th. Chaperons please meet in our classroom prior to leaving so I can assign you a group and give you other needed information. I will inform you of the time to be here later in the week. It will be somewhere between 8:45 and 9:15.
