Parents,

Just wanted to say thank you for coming to Open House on Thursday.  It was so nice meeting you and the students had a great time showing you around. I will be sending home a scholastic book order form today.  It will be due next Monday 9-29-14.  Also, book bags will start coming home as well.  Once those arrive students will be expected to read for 15-20 minutes a night. Be sure to have them fill in the title of the book they read for that day on the behavior/reading log and have it initialed or signed by you.  Some of you have already started the routine so this will be nothing new to your child 🙂  It is important for them to read on a daily basis as it increases their fluency and comprehension as well as accuracy and exposes them to new vocabulary words.  Have a great week!
