Week 2 April 27 – May 1

Your new assignment is Vocabulary & Notation

You can print out the assignment and write all of your answers, then scan or take pictures to submit.

Or, you can make a copy of the assignment then type your answers.

Here’s some information to help you on this week’s assignment.

ANGLES

This < is the angle symbol. So <A would read “angle A”

To name an angle we can use one letter or number or three letters, keeping the main one in the center.

What is an Angle? - [Definition, Facts & Example]

So, we could name this <O
We could name this < AOB (notice the O is in the middle of the name)
We could name this < BOA (notice the O is in the middle of the name)

RAYS, LINES, and SEGMENTS

Points, line segments, lines, and rays | Math, Elementary Math ...
Resources - Lines, Rays, and Line Segments

Lines, rays and segments are all named with 2 letters, the beginning and end of the set.

We put the symbol for each on top of the letters so that we know if it’s a ray, line or segment.

Geometry in My Home Project

This week your task is to complete the Geometry in My Home Project!

Essentially you’ll need to find TEN 2-dimensional objects and FIVE 3-dimensional objects in your home. Then take a picture of it and put it in a google slide to share with your teacher!

Selfies with the object are encouraged!

Also, I’m hosting a google hangout on Tuesdays from 9-10 PM every week if you want to talk or ask questions! I’d love to hear from ALL of you! Miss you.

Or, you can take 4/3 multiply by pi, then multiply by the radius cubed and you’re done.
