HLA 4:
CO: Students will demonstrate analysis of informational texts by examining textual evidence to support inferences.
LO: Students will read and write using expert folders and thinking maps.

1. SSR + record pages read
2. Expert folder for Civil Rights Movement:
-Examine resources in the folder. You may use the text you read on Thursday.
-Select 5-6 from the 10 items to analyze.
-Create a guiding question for your thinking map(s) (consider the focus questions for your research paper).
-Create a frame of reference for your map(s).
-Create a thinking map to show the article/source, a paraphrase/summary/quote, and your reason for selecting this particular item.
-This assignment is worth 30 formative points.
3. Finished early? Begin to search for 2 of your own sources for your research.
-See the Civil Rights Research post on the blog for more info.
REMINDERS:
-Vocabulary weeks 22-23 due Friday Feb.26th
-Final draft of essay due Friday Feb. 26th

CO: Students will demonstrate application of resume writing by constructing one.
LO: Students will read and write using a sample resume and an outline.

1. SSR + record number of pages read.
2. Grammar practice.
3. Resume writing
-Review packet on resumes.
-Create outline for how to write resume.
-Meet with Ms.Martin and classmates to proofread information.
-Final resume due Friday Feb.19th.
