HLA 3 (Periods 1 and 5):
CO: Students will demonstrate application of comma rules using knowing of essential and nonessential clauses.
LO: Students will read and examine sentences using their groups and toolkits/notes.

1. SSR + graph number of pages read
2. Announcements/agenda
3. Chapters 9-10 questions due
-Have responses on your desk during SSR. Ms. Martin will stamp your paper.
-Be prepared to write/share responses to questions.
4. Vocabulary review
-Match words to meaning.
-Record any helpful information in your own notes.
-Ask questions if understanding is not clear.
5. Grammar!
-Essential V. Nonessential
-Define in your own words
-Group practice: Using a white board, choose correct answers to options on the board.
6. HOMEWORK:
-Read LOTF Chapters 11-12 and complete questions
-Questions are due in class tomorrow

5. Written dialogue
6. Read chapters 9-10 for homework.

LO: Students will read and discuss point of view and perspective as it relates to social issues.

3. Hand in summative point of view assignment.
4. Vocabulary review
5. Article: “The Age of Biotech: My Sister’s Keeper and Genetic Selection”
-Read with focus on point of view/perspective
-Follow T2T (annotation) norms
6. Purpose of My Sister’s Keeper unit
