Spring Break Begins!

Dearborn has Spring Break scheduled through April 4-13. Take this time to enjoy some fun together. If your child is behind on their assignments, this is the time to catch up!

Virtual Spirit Week Day 5

So, we’ve all had to find things to do to make each day fun (and maybe avoid some boredom). Hopefully, you’ve been able to work on schoolwork, do some GoNoodle and get outside every day. We want to know what your favorite activity has been! Head over to google classroom and snap some pictures to include of your favorite fun pastimes!

Vacation!

Next week, we have Spring Break Vacation scheduled, so you will have a week off from blog posts and assignments to work on. Enjoy a break from the computer screen and have fun!

Virtual Spirit Week Day 4

Today, our theme is “Sock it to Corona”. Post a photo of you in your craziest, wackiest, most favorite socks! You’ll find the assignment “Sock it to Corona”. Link to Google Classroom

Google Hangout today!

Also, today is the day we are going to be doing our virtual Community Circle! The community circle will be held from 11:30-12:00. Just head on over to Google Classroom and you’ll find the link to add yourself to the Google Hangout. Slide Show

During the circle hangout, we will all be miked, so it’s important that we have a signal for speaking. If you have something to say, you’ll need to raise your hand and then I’ll call on you. Make sure that you try to set up in a quiet space because we will hear everything that is going on in the background! If you want to wear headphones so you can hear better, you can do that. I’m excited to hear from everyone!

Virtual Spirit Week Day #3

Today’s challenge is to upload a photo of yourself reading! You can be reading an actual book, online, or on a reading device! Mr. Joachim surprised me with an e-reader for my birthday so here is me reading a new informational text about the history of the banjo! Pretty interesting stuff! In your slide, make sure you type in a quick blurb about your book. You may see some books that look interesting to you and that will give you an idea for your next good read!

Virtual Spirit Week Day 2!

Go to Google Classroom and add a photo of something you’ve made at home! It can be something crafty or something you’ve baked or cooked. It can be a video you upload of a song you can play or a game you’ve created! It can be a work in progress or something that you’ve finished already! Have fun and post! I’ll insert the link to the slide show tomorrow!

Virtual Spirit Week!

Beginning today, I will be posting Virtual Spirit Week activities for everyone!

Monday is Pictures with Your Pets!

Howard the Owl is the only pet in our house. He is about 8 years old, so he would be in third grade too (if he were human). I knitted him as a gift to my kids when they were asking if we could get a pet.

Upload your photo and a description of who you pet is in a Google Slide Show! Look in Google Classroom for the “assignment”.

Play Pet Parade!

Week 3 Lessons Are Up!

Please make sure your child is working on the assignments listed in the Remote Classroom Page above. It is important that he/she is keeping up with the work we are doing. If you have any questions, please let me know!

This week, I’ll be planning on doing a virtual meeting via google hangouts. We received directions last week from the district that this is the platform that is supported by our district. Look for directions on Monday afternoon for how to join the conversation!

Wishtree Chapter 11-12

Today, we’re looking at fun vocabulary from these two chapters. Add a comment for your favorite word that you noticed as I read the story. (Make sure you listen to the story by clicking on the link that’s up above. There is a Wishtree Slides on Google Classroom so that you can type your responses and the blog doesn’t get too cluttered. You are not required to write a response, it’s just for fun to see what other kids in our class are thinking!
