Weather report

Hello boys and girls!! All of us have to know about weather. Learn how to find the weather conditions, how to track the weather, and you also learned about snow and tornadoes! Now, we are going to look at hurricanes. You may not know a lot about them because we don’t have them in Michigan. However, many places in the world experience them.

Also, at the beginning of The Wild Robot, we read about a hurricane! It caused Roz and the other robots to come to the island.

You will be doing some research on your own to learn more about hurricanes. The video below will show you how to access many different resources on the mel.org website. The links to those resources are below. A note-taking guide is also below for you to use as you are learning and researching. You can choose to print it out and take notes as you are learning, or you can just write down your notes on a piece of paper.

As you are taking notes, think about these questions: How does a hurricane form? Where do hurricanes form? Why are hurricanes so dangerous? What are things that people need to do to stay safe in a hurricane?

When you are finished researching and are experts on hurricanes, take the facts that you wrote down and create a paragraph (or two) that tells me all about hurricanes. I cannot wait to read your information!
