Peek at Week 15

Hi Parents!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It was sooo nice to see so many of you and my students on Friday. It made my heart happy 🙂 If you have not yet picked up the new supplies/packet, please do so tomorrow if possible. We will need the new Unit 4 booklet for this week, along with the jounral, and may do some other activities from the Holiday packet I sent home this week as well.

Here is the schedule for this week. Please remember that this schedule may change throughout the week. I may add/take away an assignment I have on here today. The daily assignments will always be posted under the daily folders on Schoology, and I will always make your child aware of what’s due that day.

Please note that we will have a Math quiz tomorrow. We will review together on Zoom and for their “YOU DO” they will follow directions on Schoology to access the Topic B quiz. They will find this quiz the same way we find our math tests. I want to take this quiz before we move on to subtraction.

I hope everyone has a nice week ahead!

Peek at Week 14

Hi families! I hope everyone had a healthy and happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully everyone had the chance to relax and rejuvenate over the last 5 days. Only 3 more weeks until we have another 2 weeks off for the holidays 🙂

I will be doing another Pick-Up this week. It will be on Friday- time to come later this week. I will be passing out the Unit 4 booklets for Benchmark, a December review packet, and also a packet for the last week of December (craft and holiday fun). I will also have a small Christmas gift for your child. I’m so sad we are missing all of these holidays together in school. It breaks my heart, it’s the fun crafts, music, and events that I miss getting to enjoy with them.

Here is the schedule for this week. Learning Labs will continue on T & TH of this week. Thanks for your cooperation! Have a great week ahead!

I am truly grateful and thankful for all of you- students and parents. This is a tough journey and I’m so thankful I have a supportive group of parents to work alongside.

Here is the schedule for Monday & Tuesday. Happy Thanksgiving!

How to Access Report Card

The Elementary Report Cards for Marking Period 1 are currently being processed and will be available to parents in ParentConnect, Thursday November 5th, 2020. Following is some information on how parents can access report cards data in MIStar ParentConnect. Please note that if you have more than one child, you should be able to see data for all your children and you do not need separate logins for the different schools (if your children attend more than one school).

How do parents login to ParentConnect? To login to ParentConnect, parents need their PIN and password; this is how it is obtained: Parents go to the Dearborn Schools’ website (dearbornschools.org) and then the ParentConnect link. If they don’t know the login info, they click (Need Your Login Information) link and it will prompt them to enter their email address (as provided to the school and entered in MIStar), and then click Submit. This process emails them their PIN and Password. After logging in, click on “report card marks” module.

Peek at Week 10

Happy November! I can’t believe this is the 10th week of remote learning, we are all still hanging in there and I appreciate your patience and support.

After a fun week of Halloween work, we are back to our normal routine. There is no school, Tuesday, November 3, due to Election Day. I will be in meetings all day and unavailable. Your child will have no assigned work this day.

I will be posting a parent-teacher conference sign-up genius tonight as well. There will be 3 days set aside for Zoom calls, ranging anywhere from 15-20 min. These will look different than what we are used to, but at this time we can go over your child’s NWEA scores, participation, goals, and leave time for questions.

Peek at Week 9

Happy Sunday! This week will look different in terms of the work and what we are doing during Zoom and for homework. We will not be using Benchmark (the ELA program). Instead we will be reading various Halloween themed books, doing activities with those stories, Writing, and other Halloween activities on Seesaw. Most assignments due will be on Seesaw this week. Please do not let your child work ahead of schedule, as I will post the assignments each day.

For Math, we will do 2 lessons this week then switch to a review and other Halloween activities.

Your child will need their packet I sent home to access various items inside throughout the week. For Friday, I’m asking them to dress in costume (if you give permission) and we will do a fun guessing game. We will share writing from the day before, and play a couple games. It is a half day so once Zoom is finished, there will be no other work 🙂

Learning Labs will continue remotely. Again, if your child is not able to get on, that is ok, these are not mandatory and I know they are sick of being on the computer. They will use the same Zoom link as the morning, please make sure they don’t come on any earlier than their assigned time. These should only last about 20 minutes.

Here is the schedule for this week, it is very brief and just an outline of what we will be doing. I hope everyone has an awesome week and Happy Halloween!!
