We had so much fun on our Field Trip this past Monday to the Oakwood Nature Center. The kids learned so much and had fun while doing it. Here are a few pictures to enjoy 🙂

I am happy to be a part of the Haigh Family! This 1st week has been wonderful! I have enjoyed getting to know all my students and we are in store for a successful school year ahead! This year marks my 12th year of teaching and I have a feeling this will be the best year yet 🙂 Here are some notes to jot down about our class:
Communication
Every Monday, starting next week a newsletter will be coming home with your child. This will inform you of what we will be working on in Reading, Math, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. This newsletter will also have any important updates or upcoming events. I will also put important reminders here on the blog weekly. Feel free to contact me through email at izbicke@dearbornschools.org or call the school and leave a message. I will respond daily.
Homework
Also, every Monday your child will be getting homework. They will receive Spelling Words, (in which they will take a test every Friday), and a daily Math homework sheet. This math sheet will have review items as well as our current skill. Every child is expected to read for 20 minutes every night. A reading log will be coming home to keep track of and respond to. The Math sheet will not be due back to me until Friday.
Reminders
Our field trip to the Oakwood Nature Center is rescheduled for Monday, October 3rd. We will be able to enjoy this trip without rain!! Please make sure children are dressed accordingly; comfy clothes/gym shoes/bagged lunch.
