Our class has won 1st place for the Box Top/Dime Challenge!!!  Thank you to all those students and parents who contributed to make this contest a success.  Our class will enjoy a pizza/ice cream party next Friday 🙂

Below are the Spelling Words for Week 8 and the Class News that will be sent home today.  No big events happening this week.  The End of Module 1 test for Math is tomorrow.  The students should be bringing home the Study Guide we went over in class today.  Tomorrow’s test will be set up the same, exact way, only with different numbers.

I have enough volunteers as of today to help run our rotations for the Halloween party, thank you!  Also, thank you to those who are volunteering to send in a treat for that day 🙂

Hi Parents!

I wanted to touch base with you about the plan for Halloween and the festivities at Haigh.

The Halloween Parade (entire school) will take place on Halloween, October 31st at 2:30 pm.  We will walk around the school 2 or 3 times, depending on weather.

This same day, we have our October PBIS Celebration.  So, before we head out for the parade, from 2:00-2:30, students will have donuts and cider, and get to have a Halloween Dance Party.

We will have a small class party after lunch, from 12:15-2:00.  From 12:15-1:15, we will have 4 rotations with fun activities, games, and crafts for the students to participate in.  I only need a handful of parent volunteers for this time, so if you are willing to help out, please notify me ASAP.  This will be on a first come first served basis, as we won’t have room for too many volunteers.

From 1:15-2:00, we will have a chance to enjoy snacks and pass out candy.  If you are willing to donate a snack to our party, please write down what you will be bringing in your child’s planner, or on the note sent home and return back to school.  Any donation is greatly appreciated by the students and I 🙂 A bag of candy, juice, fruit, cookies, chips, cupcakes, etc. are just some options that kids love!

Your child can wear their costume to school that morning for the entire day!

Last week, your child set up an e-portfolio!  Have them show you when you get a chance.  They will be adding artifacts/pictures/videos to their portfolio throughout the year to show evidence of meeting goals 🙂

Spelling Week 6

We had a fun time today at the Oakwood Nature Center!  The students got to learn about the French Voyagers, while getting the chance to canoe, through hatchets, and go on a nature hike.  Thank you to all of our parents who chaperoned today, I appreciate your help!  Enjoy some pictures from today 🙂

Hi Parents!

Our field trip to the Oakwood Nature Center is  tomorrow and it looks like we’ll have a beautiful day out for it!  Just a couple reminders for tomorrow’s trip:

The bus will leave between 9-9:15 am.  If you are chaperoning and planning to ride the bus, please be at the school no later than 9:00 am.  You can wait in the lobby, by the office doors.

If you plan on driving separate, it is your choice if you want to just meet us there, or come to the school and follow the bus.  If you want to meet us there, try to arrive at the Nature Center by 9:50 am, as we will begin at 10 am.  Also, if you plan to take your child with you in your car, you must notify me in advance, PLEASE and THANK YOU!

Make sure to bring a bagged lunch, something they can throw away.

Make sure to dress comfortably, older shoes are advised as we will be outside for most of this field trip.

An order form will come home with your child today in regards to purchasing this “Haigh 4th Grade Rocks” shirt.  The 4th grade team thought it would be nice to have matching shirts for field trips and big events at school.  If you are interested in purchasing one for your child or yourself, please send the order form and money back in by October 29th.
