Parents,

I want to say THANK YOU for an amazing year, for trusting, supporting, and leaving your child in my care everyday!  It has been a pleasure teaching them and watching them grow this year!  I hope you all have a happy, fun, safe, and relaxing summer vacation!!!  Make sure to come visit and say hi next year, I’ll be in the same classroom teaching SECOND GRADE next year!!!!

Thank you for spoiling me with such great end of the year gifts, I am so grateful and thankful!

Good afternoon parents!

Our picnic is tomorrow at Levagood Park and the weather is looking perfect!  Please make sure your child has sunscreen on or brings some to apply throughout the day.

We are asking everyone to wear their “4th Grade Rocks” shirts tomorrow 🙂

Please make sure your child brings a bagged lunch, preferably something they can throw away after.  We will be playing games, but they can feel free to bring their own outdoor games as well- just no hard baseball bats and balls please!

We plan to arrive at the park around 9:30 am and stay until around 2 pm.  Thank you to those parents who volunteered to bring something on sign-up genius.  You can send it with your child in the morning or bring up the the park if you’d like- whatever works better for you!

Only 2 1/2 more days of school left until summer vacation!!!

Monday is our Field Day- fingers crossed for no rain!!

Please make sure your child has a bagged lunch, if not they can get something from the lunchroom.  Also, please make sure they are dressed comfortably, bring a water bottle, and sunscreen if needed 🙂  We will be outside for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon on Monday.

Our class picnic is next Wednesday, June 12th.  Thank you to all who signed up to bring supplies or a treat.  We are still in need of a watermelon or other fruit donation, and water balloons.  Thank you!!

Zain!!!!

Many students nominated Zain for his positive and laid back personality.  They said  he never likes to get into disagreements, always has a way to talk things out, and always tries his best on tests and assignments.  Just the other day I witnessed the calm way in which he handled a situation, Great job, Zain!!!

The winner of last week’s quote was…..

Belal!!!!!  Many students nominated Bela for his continuous dedication to always doing right, following rules, helping others, and never being a follower.  Keep up the great work, Belal!!!

This week’s quote is the last quote of the year 🙁  It’s an important one, that we all need to keep in mind when problem solving- both academically and socially.

I hope everyone had a Happy Memorial Day and relaxing, long weekend!!  We only have 8 1/2 more days of school left, how the year has flown by!

There are no more spelling words for the year!  We completed our last test last week 🙂

We are continuing to test in Math-NWEA this week and hopefully be finished testing by Friday!  I am going to begin to DRA test your child to find what Reading Level they are leaving 4th grade at.

This will be the last Class News sent home, as we have a short 2-day week next week, then the last week of school is here.  There are many important dates coming up- please see Newsletter.

Reminder that this week is Spirit Week and Friday is the PBIS celebration.  The students can bring in a game to play for an hour that day.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
