Happy Snowy Monday! Below are the Spelling Words for Week 10 and the newsletter coming home today. Hype will be distributing Thanksgiving meals for families that are struggling, will go out and feed homeless veterans, individuals at a Detroit homeless shelter and refugees.  Each meal will consist of a turkey, canned corn, boxed mashed/scalloped potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned green beans/vegetables, Jiff cornbread/cake mix and canned fruit.

Hype will provide a pizza party for the class that donates the most items. The party will be scheduled the week of Monday, 11-18-19. 

There are boxes for this drive in the hallway across from the art showcase. This drive will begin on Monday, 10-28-19 and run till Friday, 11-15-19.

A new PTA fundraiser at Haigh has kicked off. Each teacher has been given a giant, plastic, coke bottle money bank. The intent is for most of the money raised to go back to each grade level.  In order to also include the specials teachers, we will take a small amount from each grade level and divide that between the specials teachers.  The money raised may be used for whatever the teachers feel they need for their classrooms.
The contest will continue until the bottles are filled, but the first grade level to fill all of their bottles wins an Ice Cream Social.

Happy Monday! Below are the Spelling Words for this week- long i words. There will only be 10 words and a test on Friday. We will also take a Math test- a mid-module 3 test on Friday. A study guide will go home on Wednesday. Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5th. Also, Friday is the last day to send in order forms and money for our grade-level t-shirts.

I will see some of you this Thursday for conferences, and the rest next Tuesday. Look for a note in your child’s folder for time/day. Have a great week!

We had a great field trip today! Thank you to those parents for chaperoning and spoiling the kids today, they had a blast!

Since this is a short week, with field trip, Halloween, PBIS, and a 1/2 day of school, there are NO Spelling Words this week. Here are some reminders for this week:

Tuesday 10/29- PBIS Movie in the gym (morning)

Thursday- Halloween Party 12-1, Costume Parade 2:50 (Fingers crossed the forecast changes!!!)

Friday- Half Day of School- Dismissal at 11:45 am.

Attention 2nd grade students and parents! 

The 2nd grade team will be placing an order for the shirt pictured below.  We thought it would be nice to have matching grade-level shirts for all field trips, events, picnic, field day, and any other time! Price is $6.50 a shirt for sizes Youth- S through Adult- XL.  For 2X or larger, add $2.50.  An order form is being sent home today!

If you would like to order one for your child or yourself, please indicate the size and quantity on the form and send back to school with the money.  All orders and money are due by: November 8th.
