Greetings, Friends & Families!
What was happening in our classroom?
This week, we revisited the letter “L”. We finished the letter “L” worksheets. For reading comprehension, we answered “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”. We read “Frightening” book from “Core First Learning” series, and our core word was “No”. The story of this week was “Homesick Penguin”. This book was written and illustrated by “Ken Bowser”. We are still learning about number sense, operations, and algebraic thinking, and these are our math concepts for the month of December. We visited Music on Monday & Thursday, Gym on Wednesday & Friday, and Art on Tuesday. Ms. Sandy, our PT, worked with us on Monday, Mr. Al, our OT, worked with us almost everyday. On Thursday, we attended ROAR assembly. “ROAR” stands for “Respect Others, Act Responsibly”.
Happy Birthday to our beautiful friend, Yassmin. She turned ten on Thursday:)
Friends & families, in my last week’s blog I forgot to mention that we started using the Unique Learning System. The month of December theme from the ULS is “The Gift of Giving”. In this unit’s book, students will learn about ways they can give, as well as how giving helps others. The book we started last week was “Give Giving a Try”, and we worked on worksheets that taught us the meaning of giving.
As always, dear parents, it is very essential to help our children grow a love for reading. Reading every night with your child helps strengthen the relationship between both of you, as well as the love of reading. Please, continue reading to and with your child, and for this week, please use the link below to listen and enjoy this week’s story with your child 🙂
