What was happening in our classroom?

1. This week, we continued learning all that we can about the letter “A”. We did letter “A” packet, we also finished “How an apple grows” and the month of September worksheets.
2. For reading comprehension, we answered the following questions, “What book did we read?” & “What was our core word?“, and for that we read “We Are” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
3. Our core word for the month of September will be “I”.
4. This week’s story was “My Teacher is a Monster” by “Peter Brown”.
5. ELA objectives for the month of September that we will be focusing on are: I can identify What, Who, and Where questions about a familiar story. I can understand that books are read one page at a time, beginning to end.
6. For math comprehension, we started to learn about counting numbers 1-10. We counted our fingers, blocks, pictures, and on our communication devices.
7. Math objectives for the month of September that we will be focusing on are: I can count objects up to 10. I can count objects up to 20.
8. Our “ULS” focus for this month will be on “I Can Follow The Rules”.
9. We went to Music and met Mrs. Reed, Gym and met Mr. Borg, and to the Art and met Mrs. Nada.
10. We met our speech specialist (Ms. Katleyn), physical therapist (Mrs. Sandy), occupational therapist (Mrs. Andrea), and the teacher consultant, Mrs. Kimberly.
11. Finally, this week, we celebrated Ava’s birthday. Big shout and congratulations to her 🙂

What was happening in our classroom?

1. Welcome everyone to our second week of school 🙂
2. We started this week on Tuesday which was an early release day.
3. This week, we learned all that we can about the letter “A” which was our letter of the week.
4. FUN FACT about the letter “A”: in our classroom we found that four of our friends their names start with the letter “A”. Anisa, Adam, Ava, and Ahmed!
5. “A” is for “Apple”, and we made the letter “A” craft.

Welcome back 🙂

Greetings, Friends & Families!

We started our first week of school with introducing ourselves to each other. It was very excited and joyful to see our friends again. During last week, we watched Cocomelon, simple songs, ABC songs, and many more. We started our mornings with “Circle Time” and participated in our morning meeting routine. We ate breakfast and lunch as a group in our classroom, and then we took a nap when the time permits. We had a visit from our physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy specialists. Finally we visited the Gym, Art, and the Music. Our story for this week was “The Pigeon HAS to Go to School!”, and it’s written by “Mo Willems”.

Creative project team made a beautiful visit to our classroom and helped us making a crayon craft. It was so fun working with them again.

Our classroom family consists the following members:

Ms. Ilham Alasady (the teacher), Ms. Aseel (Paraprofessional), Ms. Fatema (Paraprofessional).

Our kiddos are: Bisan, Fatima, Esraa, Ava, Adam, Anisa, Ahmed.

What was happening in our classroom?

In our last week(It was a very busy week:)

1. We read different stories.
2. We read different core word’s stories.
3. Our core word was “It”.
4. We answered the two reading comprehension questions, “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”.
5. We reviewed the alphabets.
6. We counted numbers 1-10.
7. We reviewed the shapes and the colors.
8. We worked on learning how to write our names using building blocks.
9. We worked on different worksheets.
10. On Tuesday, we enjoyed Howe field day. It was so much fun 🙂
11. On Thursday, we welcomed our new friends to our family in room 115. Ava, Anisa, Ahmed, & Adam welcome aboard.
12. On Friday, we celebrated the 5th graders’ graduation at the GYM.
13. Finally, we said good bye to our dearest friends Heba & Yassmin who are moving to upper elementary classroom next year. Friends, you will be greatly missed.

4. Monday & Thursday, we had Music.
5. Tuesday, we had ART.
6. Wednesday & Friday we had GYM.
7. During the week, we worked with our Speech, physical, & Occupational specialists.

11. This week’s story was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. The book’s author and illustrator is “Eric Carle”.

13. Math concepts for the month of May will be on “Measurement & Data, Geometry”, and the key concepts are “Shapes & Angles”.
14. ULS topic for the month of May will be “Life Science: Plants Can Grow”.
