The Exploration of the week of 04/28-5/1/2025

  1. The letter of this week was the letter “W”.
  2. We did letter “W” craft. “W” is for “Worm”.
  3. For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we read “Transportation Riddles” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
  4. Our core word for this week was “Can”.
  5. ELA objectives for the month of May that we are focusing on are “I can identify the same pictures/objects of two books.”, and “I can attend to others talking or writing about things in my life.”
  6. This week’s story was “Froggy Finds Signs of Spring”.
  7. For math comprehension, we counted numbers 1-10. We counted our fingers, blocks, pictures, and on our communication devices, as well as we sang counting songs. 
  8. Math objectives for the month of May are “I can tell time to the hour on A digital clock.”, and “I can learn about shapes.”
  9. We went to Music, Gym and met Mr. Borg, and to Art and met Mrs. Nada.
  10. We met our occupational therapist (Mrs. Andrea), physical therapist(Mrs. Sandy).
  11. We ended this week with NED innovation assembly.

  5. ELA objectives for the month of April that we are focusing on are “I can identify pictures or objects that go with a familiar story.”, and “I can look at words in my world.”
  6. This week’s story was “Don’t Push the Button!An Easter Surprise” written by “ Bill cotter”.
  7. ULS focus for this month is “Time for Peace”.
  8. For math comprehension, we counted numbers 1-10. We counted our fingers, blocks, pictures, and on our communication devices, as well as we sang counting songs. 
  9. Math objectives for the month of April are I can identify Opposites”, andI can identify coins and their value.
  10. We went to Music, Gym and met Mr. Borg, and to Art and met Mrs. Nada.
  11. We met our occupational therapist (Mrs. Andrea), physical therapist(Mrs. Sandy) and our speech therapist (Ms. katelyn Pinkowski).
  12. On Thursday, we went swimming at the Civic Center. It was a great experience and we had a great time:)
  13. We ended this week with NED innovation assembly.
  14. Congratulations Ava and Esraa for being students of the month of April. Both of them were awarded a certificate of “Perseverance” which is the characteristic trait for the month of April.

The Exploration of the week of 04/01/2025

It was a short and busy week! We had a fire drill on Thursday. We went to Music, Gym, and Art. We met our physical, occupational, and speech specialists. We met for our morning meeting every day. We practiced building our names and numbers 1-5, or 1-10. We ended this week with a field trip to Henry Ford Museum.

  1. Continued in the spirit of “March is Reading Month”. In this week we had a visit from Dearborn Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Malayko, who read a book with us.
  2. During this week, Ms. Keebler’s students visited us and we had a group project.

  4. We did letter “S” craft. “S” is for “Sandwich”.
  5. For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we read “You Are My” book from the “Core First Learning” series.

  8. This week’s story was “There was an Old Lady who swallowed a Clover!” by “Lucille Colandro” and illustrated by “Jared Lee”.

  2. During this week, we visited Ms. Keebler’s classroom, and we worked with her third graders in a group project.

  5. For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we read “You” book from the “Core First Learning” series.

  8. This week’s stories were “Going On A Picnic” an adaptive interactive book by “Michelle Breaux” and “We’re Going On A Picnic” by “Pat Hutchins”.

  1. This week was a very busy one. We started this week with a visit from channel 4 local news anchor, “Jason Colthorp”. Since March is reading month, Mr. Colthorp read a story for the whole school.
  2. During this week, we visited Ms. Keebler’s classroom, and we worked with her third graders in a group project.
  3. We ended this week by a visit from “Creative Needs Project” group who helped us making unicorns and reading us a book.
  4. The letter of this week was the letter “Q”.
  5. We did letter “Q” craft. “Q” is for “Queen”.
  6. For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we read “I Like You” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
  7. Our core word for the month of March is “You”.

  8. This week’s story was “Hugs & Kisses for the Grouchy Ladybug” written by “Eric Carle”.
