What was happening in our classroom?
This week was a very busy one! We continued our reading comprehension with learning about the core word, “I”. We read “I Have Feelings”, book from the “Core First Learning” series. We read ” My Teacher is a Monster! No, I Am Not” book. The author and the illustrator of this book is “Peter Brown”. For math comprehension, we continued on counting numbers 1-5. We counted blocks, cubes, and our fingers, and we sang counting numbers song. For science comprehension, we learned about calendar, seasons, & the Weather. In this week we met our physical therapist, Mrs. LaSandra, and we had so much fun in the Gym, Art, & Music.

We read “I said, Hi”, from the “Core First Learning” series. For this week, we read ” Our class is a family” book by “Shannon Olsen” and illustrated by Sandie Sonke. For math comprehension, we continued on counting numbers 1-5. And for science comprehension, we learned about calendar, seasons, & the Weather. In this week we met our wonderful physical therapist, Mrs. LaSandra, and we had so much fun in the Gym, Art, & Music.

What was happening in our classroom?
This week we welcomed our new friend Fatima who joined our family at room 115. We are so delighted and happy to have you with us, Fatima:)
We spent this week in setting our school and classroom rules, procedures, and our daily schedule. We worked on how do we feel on our first day of school, what is our favorite subject, and what is our favorite special to go to during the day. We started our reading comprehension with learning about our first core word, “I”. We read “I said, Hi”, from the “Core First Learning” series. For this week, we read “The Pigeon HAS to Go to School!” book by “Mo Willems”. For math comprehension, we started counting numbers 1-5. And for science comprehension, we learned about calendar, seasons, & the Weather. We would like to thank Bisan’s mom for donating different supplies that we need in our classroom, thank you so much Mrs. Freij đ We also would like to welcome our new aids who are going to stay with us until the end of September, Ms. Rahma and Ms. Zahraa, we are very happy to have you with us ladies, and we appreciate all that you do in our classroom đ

What was happening?
We started the week with the celebration of three of our adult students who are going to leave Howe school and explore other opportunities. Congratulations, friends! We reviewed what is left of the alphabet, “P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, & Z”. Our core word for this week was “You”. We read “You Are My” book from “Core First Learning” series. We listened to “Pete the Cat and the Cool Caterpillar” book by “James Dean”. We had fun in the Gym, Art, & music. We welcomed two new friends who they will join our family next year. Fatima & Violette welcome aboard:) Finally, we met our specialists OT, PT, & the SLPI. It was a very short and fun week!
Friends & Families, it was such a great honor and pleasure to work with each and everyone of you đ I truly enjoyed every moment with you, and I am looking forward to meeting you again next September đ

June 15th, Thursday â Spirit Day Theme: Summer Break Here We Come! Wear your sunglasses, sun hats, and summer attire (No swimwear or flip flops)
HALF DAY OF SCHOOL- Special Education will dismiss at 11:30 AM; Montessori will Dismiss at 12:05
June 16, Friday- SUMMER VACATION BEGINS!
We are looking forward to a fun last week of school!
