Greetings, Friends & Families!
What was happening in our classroom?
- The letter of this week was the letter “S”.
- We worked on letter “S” worksheets. We did letter “S” craft, “S” is for “Sandwich”.
- Our core word for the month of February is “Want“. We answered our two reading comprehension questions, “What book did we read?”, and “What was our core word?”.
- We read “Hats” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
- ULS for this week was still “I Can Be Healthy”.
- “I can learn about shapes” is the math concept for the month of February, and that’s what we focused on through this last week. To improve our math comprehension, we counted numbers 1-10 during our morning meeting and throughout the day.
- This week’s story was “There was an old lady who swallowed a rose” book. The author is “Lucille Colandro”, and the illustrator is “Jared Lee”.
- We visited Music on Thursday, Gym on Wednesday & Friday, and Art on Tuesday.
We would like to send our appreciation to Detroit Indian Women’s Association for their generosity. This organization donated such amazing, gorgeous, and hand made blankets to our students. They were definitely made with love.
As always, a friendly reminder, dear parents, it is very essential to help our children grow a love for reading. Reading every night with your child helps strengthen the relationship between both of you, as well as the love of reading. Please, continue reading to and with your child.
