Greetings, Friends & Families!
What was happening in our classroom?
- This month’s core word was still “Like”.
- “I Like Food” was our reading comprehension book from the “Core First Learning” series.
- Through walking the book’s pages, we answered our two reading comprehension questions, “What book did we read?” & “What was our core book?”.
- The letter of the week was the letter “O”.
- We worked on letter “O” worksheets.
- We did letter “O” craft. Letter “O” is for “Orange”.
- Our math comprehension for the month of January is “Fractions”.
- We practiced identifying fractions “half and whole”.
- We counted numbers 1-10.
- The concept of Unique Learning System for the month of January is “I Can Be Healthy”.
- This week’s story was “The Snowy Day”. This book was written and illustrated by “Ezra Jack Keats”.
- We enjoyed doing “Pop Rocks” science experiment.
- We visited Music on Monday & Thursday, Gym on Wednesday & Friday.
- We met Ms. Vannoord, our speech specialist, Ms LaSandra, our physical therapist, and Mr. Al, our occupational specialist.

A friendly reminder, dear parents, it is very essential to help our children grow a love for reading. Reading every night with your child helps strengthen the relationship between both of you, as well as the love of reading. Please, continue reading to and with your child.
