Greetings Friends & Families!
Poem of the Week
Riddle
Who dances lightly through the world
in slippers mossy green?
Who covers trees with tiny leaves
where birds can hide unseen?
Who brings the flowers?
Who brings the showers?
Who brings the butterflies?
Of course, you know the answer——-
That
zingy
wingy
singy
flingy
swingy
season
SPRING!

What was Happening?
Our focus for this week was on the letter P. We made a large P with a small popcorn picture that represented the letter of the week out of construction papers, and we even popped some popcorn and glued them on our P poster :). We also made our letter P mini-books. We picked our favorite items that start with the letter P and glued them on a large poster, now hanging outside our classroom.
This week, we continued learning about the core word “Want”. For that purpose, we continued on our book, “Hats”. We also continued reviewing the story that talked about the month of March. The story is called “In March, I see…”. Our reading comprehension question was, “What book did we read?”. We explored “If you give a mouse a cookie” book, written by “Laura Joffe Numeroff” and illustrated by “Felicia Bond”, and we answered some comprehension questions about this book.
Here is the book to enjoy with your child:
In math, we still learning about identifying which item is tall, and which is short.
In science, we learned about parts of a plant. We learned that these parts are: seed, root, stem, leaf, and flower. We also, in this week, talked about living & nonliving things around us.
The explorers visited Music, Art, and Gym, and they had such a great and fun time during their activities with each other and with the staff, as well.
Enjoy this week’s pictures:
