The Exploration of the week of 01/13/2025

  1. The letter of this week was the letter “M”.
  2. We practiced different worksheets for the letter “M”.
  3. We did letter “M” craft. “M” is for “Mouse”.
  4. For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we read “I Like Food” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
  5. Our core word was“Like”.
  6. ELA objectives for the month of January that we focused on were “I can tell the difference between words and pictures” and “I can identify a main character in a story”.
  7. This week’s story was “The Snowy Day” written by “Ezra Jack Keats”.
  8. ULS topic for the month of January is “Physical Science/See It, Feel It, Describe It”.
  9. For math comprehension, we counted numbers 1-10. We counted our fingers, blocks, pictures, and on our communication devices, as well as we sang counting songs. 
  10. Math objective for the month of January is still “I can identify fractions“.
  11. We went to Music and met Mrs. Reed, Gym and met Mr. Borg, and to the Art and met Mrs. Nada.
  12. We met our occupational therapist (Mrs. Andrea), physical therapist(Mrs. Sandy) and our speech therapist (Ms. katelyn Pinkowski).
  13. We had such a great time on Thursday visiting “Life Town” again.

The Exploration of the week of 01/06/2025

Welcome back everyone to our first school week of year 2025! In this week, we practiced and did our best to go back to our school routines. We gathered every morning and met for “Morning Meeting/Circle Time”, then we practiced learning how to build our names using different strategies, we also practiced counting numbers 1-10 using building blocks, our fingers, or toys.

For reading comprehension and to answer “What book did we read?” and “What was our core word?”, we did a book walk of “I Like Food” book from the “Core First Learning” series. Our core word for this month will be “Like”. ELA objectives for the month of January that we will focus on are “I can tell the difference between words and pictures” and “I can identify a main character in a story”. This week’s story was “Snowmen All Year” written by “Caralyn Buehner” and pictures by “Mark Buehner”. Math objective for the month of January is “I can identify fractions“. ULS topic for this month is “Physical Science/See It, Feel It, Describe It”.
