Greetings, Friends & Families!
What was happening in our classroom!
- We started this week with a CBI activity to Life Town on Monday.
- The letter of this week was the letter “W”.
- We did letter “W” craft, “W” is for “Worm”.
- We did letter “W” worksheets.
- Our core word for the month of April is “Can“.
- We answered our two reading comprehension questions, “What book did we read?”, and “What was our core word?”.
- We read “Transportation Riddles” book from the “Core First Learning” series.
- This week’s story was “A little Book About Spring”. This book was written & illustrated by “Leo Lionni”.
- Our ELA focus for the month of April is “Illustrations & Word Recognition”.
- Our math focus for the month of April is “Measurement & Data”, and the key concepts are “Time, Money, & Graphs”.
- ULS topic for the month of April is “Life Science: Plants Can Grow”.
- On Tuesday, we went to Art class. On Thursday, we went to music, and on Wednesday and Friday, we went to the Gym.
- This week, we were very excited doing our science experiment: How does a plant drink water? We wrote down our hypothesis: Water won’t move up!, OR, water moves up! Then, we observed our celery for few days to check for any changes. Finally, we wrote down our findings. We noticed that the celery leaves turned to blue and red(the food coloring we used)! That proved the water actually moved up! And this is how a plant drinks water!
A friendly reminder, dear parents, it is very essential to help our children grow a love for reading. Reading every night with your child helps strengthen the relationship between both of you, as well as the love of reading. Please, continue reading to and with your child.
