What was happening in our classroom?

Welcome to the second week of October! This week we continued our reading comprehension with the learning about the core word “GO”. We read “Go Fish” book from the “Core First Learning” series. This week’s story was “Pete The Cat: The Wheels on the Bus”. This book was written by James Dean. This week, we learned about the letter “E”. We made letter “E” crafts. The word “Egg” starts with the letter “E”. We also worked on letter “E” worksheets. We also talked about how to become a responsible student. We learned some rules that we can follow during the school day that help us to understand the meaning of responsibility. For math comprehension, we continued on counting numbers 1-10. We counted blocks, cubes, and our fingers, and we sang counting numbers song. For science comprehension, we learned about calendar, seasons, & the Weather. In this week we met our physical therapist, Mrs. LaSandra, Mr. Al the occupational therapist, and our Speech therapist, Ms. Kaitlin. we also had so much fun in the Gym, Art, & Music. We participated in our school assembly. The topic of the assembly was “Kindness”. We made a chain from construction papers that each piece of the chain has a visual that represents one way of showing kindness.

This week was our first week for the Early Release program. On every Tuesday, our dismissal time will be 1:30 PM.

Finally, on Friday, we met the U of M student group, known as the Creative Needs Project. This group volunteered in our classroom and help the student design and paint their own pumpkin.
