Greetings Friends & Families:
Poem of the Week
The Fairies
See the fairies dancing in
the misty meadow hay,
Leaping on the stone wall, up and away.
One little, two little, seven little men,
Dancing in the shadows of the forest glen,
Down past the oak tree
Down past the brook
Dancing through the valley to
the fairies’ nook.
Skip across a duck’s back
Jump acroos a jay
Leap fairies, leap fairies , leap and away;
Up a hairy thistle
Swinging on the spike
Jump into the thistledown
Sleep all night!

What was happening?
Our focus for this week was on the letter O. We made a large O with a small orange that represented the letter of the week out of construction papers. We also made our letter O mini-books. We picked our favorite items that start with the letter O and glued them on a large poster, now hanging outside our classroom.
This week, we continued learning about the core word “Want”. For that purpose, we started our new book, “Hats”. We also started a new story that talked about the month of March. The story is called “In March, I see…”. Our reading comprehension question was, “What book did we read?”.
In math, we started to learn about identifying which item is tall, and which is short.
In science, we learned about parts of a plant. We learned that these parts are: seed, root, stem, leaf, and flower.
Thank you so much to Adam, Jody, and Lana from Mrs. Polster’s classroom for reading with my kids parts of “Wizard of Oz”. Guys, you are terrific!
The explorers had such a great and fun time during their activities in Music, Art, and Gym.
The family of our room would like to send their thanks and best wishes to our awesome sub Ms. Hanan Alrubay for her hard work & dedication in supporting our kids in our room. She worked with us for seven straight days. Ms. Hanan, you are amazing! We’d love seeing you again 🙂
