Hello, Families
Poem Of The Week:
Something Told The Wild Geese
Something told the wild geese
It was time to go.
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered-“Snow”.
Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, luster-glossed,
But beneath warm feathers
Something cautioned-“Frost”.
All the sagging orchards
Steamed with amber spice.
But each wild breast stiffened
At remembrance ice.
Something told the wild geese
It was time to fly-
Summer sun was on their wings,
Winter in the cry.

What was happening?
My explorers continued in learning all about the letter of the week, the letter E, and they created their mini letter E book. In this book, they glued pictures that start with the letter of the week, such as a picture of an egg, an eggplant,…etc. In another book, they colored all the pictures that start with letter E. They also practiced matching pictures, tracing dotted straight and curved lines, coloring, they even created their E’s by using red kidney beans.
Our Reading Comprehension for this week focused on the book of “Five Silly Turkey’s”, and it was written by “Salina Yoon”. My explorers answered different questions regarding our story of the week. They answered, “What story did we read?”, “Who is the character in the story?”, “When did the story take place?”, “What was the story about?”, “Where did the story take place?”, “What happened at the beginning of the story?”, ” What happened at the middle of the story?”, ” What happened at the end of the story?”
In Math, the explorers used our story book to focus on counting and identifying numbers. They also practiced tracing, coloring number 1, and counting a group of items.
