Week One of Exploration!

Hello, Families!

Welcome to our SXI classroom where our kids, for two weeks, have been learning, discovering, exploring, and enjoying different adventures!

In the last couple of weeks, we were learning about the Letter D, and the many ways of becoming more familiar with this letter, such as tracing, coloring, identifying, cutting out, and matching.

For reading comprehension, we were reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar“, a book by Eric Carle. This children’s book has an educational theme – counting the days of the week, foods, and a butterfly’s life stages. It teaches children how to count and to make one-to-one correspondences between numbers and the items the Very Hungry Caterpillar has eaten. This book combines Language Arts, Math, and Science all in one lesson. In math, we had the opportunity to explore the Number 1 in tracing, connecting, and coloring.

NEXT WEEK’S OBJECTIVES:

During the first week of November, we will explore the Letter E as the letter of the week, and the Number 2 as the number of the week. The kids will start learning about shapes next week, and they will start to explore the shape of a Circle.

As you can see below, the children had a fun time today at the gym when they joined the Halloween activities that were directed and supervised by Phys-Ed and Art teachers.
