May 19th Lesson Plans

Here is an outline of today’s assignments (Tuesday, May 19th):

● SPELLING:  Sight Words (where, what, why, when) / write 4 times each using different colors.  Diagraphs video, https://safeyoutube.net/w/whlC

● READING:  Listen to the story, “How I Became a Pirate,” https://youtu.be/y4m_BW5yddU

Discuss:  Retell the story, “How I Became a Pirate,” to someone at home.  Don’t forget to include the characters, setting, problem, and solution in your retelling!  If you’re feeling like a challenge, have mom/dad record a video of you retelling the story + send it to your teacher!

⭐️ Practice your reading bag books + sight words 📖

● WRITING:  Make a paper book and write your own “If I Was a Pirate…” story!  Leave the cover page blank, for now.  Turn to page. 1.

Start your story by describing the setting (where does your story take place?), your pirate ship (what does it look like?), and your crew (who is with you on the ship?).  Use speech bubbles, pictures, and sentences to tell your story!

● MATH:  Lesson 12 (Module 5).  Watch the video, https://safeYouTube.net/w/DTsC.  Complete the Problem Set (p. 103 – see attached PDF) and Homework (p. 221, 223).

● SOCIAL STUDIES:  None.
