- Station 3: Veins Station (jump ropes)
- Station 4: Four Chambers of the Heart Station (bounce ball and scooters)

After School Programs
Dear Flyers Family,
I am very excited to announce two after school programs to help keep students moving! The programs will be offered once a week on Wednesday’s and run from 3:45pm – 4:45pm beginning in the New Year.
- S.T.A.R.
Program for grades K-5th
- The STAR program is a free program for K-5th grade that allows students an opportunity to reach their full potential, by giving them the knowledge and skills to take them on any journey they wish through life as physically literate learners. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities that promote teamwork and confidence through play as they Sharpen the Saw (habit 7).
- Running
Club for grades 3rd-5th
- Lindbergh’s Running Club is a free program for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. We meet once a week, for five weeks, on Wednesday’s from 3:45-4:45pm. We will begin with a warm up and stretches and then we hit the track! Students go at their own pace and are encouraged to work towards reaching their own personal goal. We continue the year motivating beginning runners to “run one lap then walk one” and to continue at that pace for as long as they can. Then, we build up to running two laps and walking one and so on. We finish our workouts with cool down stretches and reward students for reaching mileage milestones. Lindbergh’s Running Club is a happy and healthy place to finish your school day!
If you are interested in signing up your child for the either program, please check out the schedule and register at https://rb.gy/fpdikm to reserve your child’s spot in the club. You can sign up for as many classes as you wish. However, space is limited for each class, so please check for availability and only sign up for the days your child can attend.

Welcome to Physical Education!
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Greetings on behalf of the Physical Education program at Lindbergh Elementary School. I am delighted to have your child in class this year! Physical Education classes will be held three times a week for our Young Five’s and Kindergarteners and twice a week for our 1st-5th grade students (45 minutes classes). Through Physical Education, students will grasp the knowledge, physical skills and social skills necessary to lead and sustain a physically active lifestyle.
For your child’s safety, your child must wear tennis shoes or soft-soled shoes throughout our time together in P.E. These shoes should cover the toes, and give adequate support to the foot and ankle. Dress shoes, cowboy boots, sandals, flip flops, clogs, Crocs, or tie up shoes that are left unlaced do not supply proper support to your child’s feet and ankles and should not be worn. Proper shoes prevents the risk of injury as there is a lot of movement involved in Physical Education class.
In the event that your child is unable to participate in class due to a physical injury or any other health related concerns, I ask that you send a note to class so that I can make alternative plans to accommodate their needs.
I believe that the upcoming year will be exciting, and one in which your child experiences many physical successes. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting each of you throughout the school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at harveyj@dearbrnschools.org. I also invite you to sign up for my blog when I post important information and events (link provided below). This will assist in keeping track of the exciting things we are working on this year. I am so honored and excited to share my passion of teaching P.E. with your child! Thank you for your support, and let’s make this year a great and exciting school year.

This Week in PE
Dear Flyers Family,
Last week, I was excited to have the students put their bowling skills to the test as we turned the gym into Lindbergh Lanes. Students were able to learn about the history, grip of the ball and approach (steps and sequences) as well as the rules and strategies used in the sport of bowling.
This week, our lesson focus is on the overhand throw. Students will be using the overhand throw in a game called Hula Hut Take down as they work together as a team in various roles (attackers, defenders, builders) in an effort to take down the opposing teams hula huts while trying to keep theirs up!
Additionally, 4th & 5th grade students will be participating in the PACER test. Which stands for Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run. We have worked very hard all year to build up are cardiovascular endurance through various exercises and activities. With the PACER test I will teach/review with students the tips and techniques used while running (breathing, pacing and runners gait etc) and put our bodies to the test. ** Please note that any 4th and 5th grade students that are participating in Ramadan and fasting will have an alternative date to perform the PACER test in June after the celebration and conclusion of Ramadan.** Thank you for your support and understanding.
Have a wonderful day,
Mr. Harvey
