Hard to believe that the cold weather is already here!

The guidelines we use to determine if students will go outside for recess or have inside line-up for arrival are a combined temperature and windchill of below 20 degrees.  Therefore, if the weather is below 20 degrees, students will remain inside for recess and we will allow students to line up inside the building starting at 8:30 am.

Please remember to always dress appropriately for the weather; students will need snow pants, boots, hats, scarves and gloves to ensure their safety and well-being when we have outdoor recess!

Just a reminder that this Thursday, November 9th from 6-7pm,  there will be a Watch D.O.G.S. “Dads and Kids Pizza Night”! Please send in the R.S.V.P. if you plan on attending so that we have an accurate count for pizza and drinks.  If you are unable to attend but are still interested in becoming a Watch D.O.G. please email Michele Walters at walterm1@dearbornschools.org.

The Dearborn Recreation & Parks Dept. along with Mayor O’Reilly and Councilman Dave Bazzy are planning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on this Friday, November 3 at 3:30pm for the NEW playscape at Whitmore Bolles park.  We’d love to have some of the children from Whitmore Bolles Elementary to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony and photo opportunity should take no more than 15-20 minutes.
