District Launches New Monthly Newsletter!
The Dearborn Public Schools is proud to announce the start of a new monthly newsletter titled, The First Bell. The publication is part of the overall communication effort to share the great news and information about the Dearborn Public Schools with the thousands of residents living in the district.
“Our parents do a great job of staying informed about all that is happening in the classroom and at our schools but we really felt we were missing a large part of our community who wanted to know about all the exciting news and events taking place in our district,” said David Mustonen, Communications Director. “We hope this publication, along with the accompanying website, will help to fill that gap.”
The First Bell will highlight student and staff achievements, events going on in the schools, and other news important to the community. The print version of the newsletter will contain special QR codes throughout the publication. The codes can be scanned with a smartphone and will automatically take readers to additional coverage of a story that might include a video, more photos, or in depth commentary.
“The Board of Education understands how important it is for all of our community to be informed about the news and events taking place in our district. I appreciate their commitment to using a variety of communication tools to reach our stakeholders,” commented Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Glenn Maleyko.
Look for the printed newsletter in your mailbox the week of December 11th and then each month following through the end of the school year in June. The online version of The First Bell will feature additional coverage of stories found in the print version and will be updated throughout the month. The First Bell online can be found at https://firstbell.dearbornschools.org/
