Welcome Back Miller School!
Dear Families:
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. I would like to take this moment to introduce myself. My name is Zane Hammoud and I will be your child’s 5th grade teacher. This will be my 6th year teaching in the classroom and I am really excited. I am a graduate of Wayne State University (2013) with a major in integrated science and elementary education. I am very fortunate to be in a profession where I get to work with kids on a daily basis. In my opinion, there is nothing more exciting or rewarding than teaching. I am a firm believer that an effective “education is the passport to a brighter future.”
A good parent-teacher relationship is essential to a student’s success in the classroom. Throughout the year, I will be communicating with you through notes, telephone calls, progress reports, report cards, parent-teacher conferences and email. I believe in an open door policy and you are always welcome in the classroom. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time during the school year. You can reach me at (313) 827-6850 before or after school. You can also send me a note or email me at hammouz@dearbornschools.org. I also encourage parents to take an active role in participating in classroom and school activities (i.e. birthdays, classroom parties, field trips, school plays, sporting events, concerts etc.) that your son/daughter may be involved in. Your support of these activities will benefit your son/daughter tremendously. Participating in such activities will also allow you to take part of the rich opportunities available here at Miller Elementary.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or would just like to know more about my classroom and your child’s progress. I appreciate your support and look forward to meeting you soon. I am really looking forward to working with your son/daughter this year and hope I can rely on your support at home.
Sincerely,
Mr. Zane Hammoud
