I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and nice weather. We are winding down our year. These next few weeks will be busy as we are preparing for our last unit exams in many subject areas. Here is the weekly objectives-
Reading-
- 4.1 Refer to details and examples in poetry when explaining what the texts says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
- RL 4.2 Determine a theme of a poem from details in a text; summarize the text.
- RL 4.3 Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a poem drawing on specific details in the text (e.g. a character’s thoughts, words, or actions).
Math:
- 4.MD.1 Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two- column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36)
Science:
Structure and function
- How do organisms live, grow, respond to their environment, and reproduce?
- How and why do organisms interact with their environment and what are the effects of these interactions?
Writing:
- I can demonstrate synthesis of how to organize events into paragraphs by composing a multiple paragraph.
- I can demonstrate application of building writing stamina by writing during the writer’s workshop.
Social studies:- Market Economy- Test On Wednesday, May 31st.
- Use fundamental principles and concepts of economics to understand economic activity in a market economy.
- Identify questions economists ask in examining the United States (e.g., What is produced? How is it produced? How much is produced? Who gets what is produced? What role does the government play in the economy?).
