Poetry!

Posted by Amy Gwizdz on October 11, 2012 in Fifth Grade |

Our class is working on a form of poetry called Diamanté. Diamantés are poems with 7 lines that follow a specific format. They can describe two things that are synonyms or antonyms. The first line is a noun, the second line has two adjectives that describe the noun, the third line is three -ing verbs that describe the noun. The fourth line has 4 nouns, where the first two relate to line one and the last two relate to line seven. Line five has three -ing verbs, line six has two adjectives, and line seven is the other noun that the poem is about. Here are some photos of us in the process of writing our own diamantés! When they are complete, they will be on display outside our room on our “Poe-Tree!”
