Book Bingo Friday, December 7th
Read by 3rd Grade
Based on Public Law 306 (October 2016), third grade students who are more than a year below grade level on the state ELA assessment are under consideration for retention in third grade. Dearborn Public Schools staff in elementary schools have been systematically planning to ensure that teachers have the training to teach reading effectively and that students receive small group instruction based on their needs. The current year second graders are the first group to potentially be impacted by the legislation.
You are invited to join the district task force to strengthen the planning process and to ensure that the community is informed and engaged in the success of every student. If you are able to attend an important meeting, on January 10th, regarding this law please click the link below:
Penny Wars – Lunch Reward
PTA will be rewarding all 2nd grade students with lunch on Friday, December 7th for winning the Penny Wars! Pizza and other items will be served. No need to send your child with a lunch on Friday.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities
Just a reminder that Snow PTA has a few things going over the next two weeks and we need your help!
First, we are doing popcorn day again on Friday, Dec. 7. Helpers are needed to help pop, bag and deliver to the classrooms starting about 11 a.m. Younger siblings are welcome to come too. Meet in the lobby.
Next, also on Dec. 7 we are having another book bingo. Calling starts at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. We need some donations for the bake sale and a few people to help set up the event and then assist at the bake sale.
Last, but the biggest, is next week’s holiday shop. If we do not get enough volunteers to staff the sale, we might have to cancel. We would especially like one person to step up and agree to be there for the entire sale each day Tuesday and Wednesday. We realize a whole day is big commitment, but the kids really love getting to shop on their own. If you are able to help, please visit the sign up at:
