Afternoon Haigh Community,

Please see the message below from Playworks. We worked with Playworks last school year and will have them back to Haigh for the 2020-2021 school year. They focus on social interactions and life skills for grade level students. They have many fun games and activities that you can use at your home for indoor and outdoor games. You may consider following them on the social media mentioned below.

Playworks message:

We’ll be highlighting a series of Playworks games on our social media channels in the coming weeks. These will be games that can be played at home with a small number of children or larger groups in schools that are open. Assignments for March 16-20

Good Morning! Missing your smiling faces already!

I have assigned 3 Readworks articles for this week. They are located on your Google Classroom. Please sign in as usual to do your work. Do not do the articles all at once, try to do one a day. Practice your reading skills by rereading the articles to find the answer or think about the text to infer the answer. Make sure you do your work in complete sentences. If you have any Readworks articles that you did not submit from the last few weeks, finish them and submit them for a grade.

D-SHINES Program

Dear families,

Haigh is excited to collaborate with Wayne State University to begin our D-SHINES program this spring. D-SHINES will convert part of the large field behind our school into a full garden, complete with massive garden beds, shed, picnic tables and benches for an outdoor classroom. The focus of this program is to promote healthy lifestyle choices, proper nutrition and the importance of physical activity.

Before we begin this program, the D-SHINES program coordinator from WSU would like to collect information from our families to develop a program that is best suited for our students and our families. The survey takes approximately six minutes. Please take the time to complete this survey (only one survey per family is needed).

Thanks so much for your help and support as we begin this awesome program!
